China Glaze – Adore

Posted Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Wohoo the sun was out today, so I can finally take some pictures :D This polish was part of the China Glaze Romantique Spring 2009 collection and must say even though this is the only one of them I got, this is definitely my favorite! I love the color it has. Only thing there is to say on the negative side is the brush strokes can be somewhat visible but I don’t think it matters that much :) Its gorgeous and I love it :D Btw, do you like it when I have the full sized(as in filling out the entire column) pictures or do you prefer them at bit smaller like these in this post? Let me know in the comments :) Thanks for reading! <3

NfuOh – 51

Posted Monday, March 1st, 2010

This is one of the infamous NfuOh’s, it seems to be quite a lemming in the nail community. And I understand why :P I bought them a while ago but haven’t really had time to try them on other than a quick swatch on each finger. So here is a quick post with the first of them. This is the original color, I haven’t used a base color. So this is how it actually looks :) I have seen a lot of pictures with a black as a base and that looks great to, I mean flakies can make anything look good! :D

For those of you not familiar with this polish I took some pictures of the bottle :) As you can see its shaped like a dress, I think its absolutely gorgoues and the best idea for a polish ever :) Nfuoh’s slogan is: “When NfuOh began All of the worlds nailart trend was changed” And who is to argue with them? :P NfuOh’s own blog can be found here and I bought mine at Fabuloustreet.com

China Glaze – LOL

Posted Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I have been sick, hence the silence here. Most of you would probably have guessed this from reading my last post. I am doing pretty fine now and had time to do a mani Friday before going out with my work. As you can see on the bottom picture this is a holo when the light hits it and a when there’s non on it, its just a gorgeous purple :D Sorry about the messy cuticles, tried to brush it up a bit. And in other news I found some more stuff for my blogs birthday giveaway, so be sure to check back soon :D

Nubar – Raspberry Truffle

Posted Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Don’t think I have even gone so long without posting a polish in here, but I have been working last week and still don’t have any sun out for taking some good pictures. Okay I’ll stop complaining about the sun now :P

This polish is from the Chocolate Truffles collection from Nubar that was released fall/winter 09. I love the color of this and I cant really remember how many coats this needed but I am pretty sure 1-1½ was enough. I dont wanna say much more since the picture pretty much speak for it self. Looovely color :D

This is weird.. a spelling error… hmm…
When I removed this label a more recognizable China Glaze label was underneath, but it’s odd that this one was on top.. Anyone seen this before?

Anyways on to the swatching :p this is a purple shimmering/glittering color. I tried getting a close up picture to show it, but again with no sun out and with a normal lamp its even harder to capture. So hope this will do it for you. I have about 4½-5 coats on here. Its a really sheer polish but it was easy to apply :)

Reason for my afk’ness these last few days is my internet is not working very well. So its a pain even to browse any websites :( So I don’t know if I will be able to do any more updates before my ISP have fixed the problem. So hope you can understand why there is so little/none updates :) I try to go on my mail and twitter, but still working so slow so have given up on trying to respond to messages or emails.

This is the second half of the bunch I got sent* and thought it was about time to do this ;) The Orly Bloom Collection which most likely represent some of the spring flowers(I don’t know that for sure though :P) that you can expect to see when spring comes around. All the colors in the collection have names after a flower that seems to be within the color range of the polish.

First one is Pure Petunia and the pictures I found on the web have so many different colors so I am guessing without being a big green-thumbed person that it’s a flower that’s being mutated and bred in all kinds of ways, but I think the one I found have a somewhat similar color to the polish ;D And no matter what its a really lovely purple creme color and good coverage with 1 coat ;D

Then there is Ginger Lily which is a like orangy / bronze colored polish. When I saw the color in the bottle I didn’t really like it, but it looked better when I put it on the nails :) This also had excellent coverage with 1 coat :)

Last but not least the Wild Wisteria, very dark purple color which in some lights come out like a more dark blue color. Very hard to capture the real colors with this one. But I can definitely see a color similarity in the flower. And like with a lot of dark colors it has good coverage with only 1 coat needed :) I really like these 3 colors from the collection and would love to show you the second half, but I don’t have it and it wont be release until sometime in February. If you want to check out the other colors in the collection its spread out on a few blogs but try to do a google search on Orly Bloom collection and it should be easy to find them :) Thanks for looking/reading <3

*Collection was sent to me from the manufacturer.

I was lucky enough to get sent this product for review from the manufacturer* so here is my pictures of them and thoughts :)

I don’t know why but when I see the colors from this collection I think about the circus and fun and summer. And I don’t even like clowns that much :P They are scary :( But the colors still cheer me up and with all this winter and snow and cold, its much needed! That’s for sure.

First up is Happy Go Lucky – its a creme and applies really well, but needed two coats for total coverage. It could be that I apply a fairly thin first coat, but I like to put it on thinner because there is a less chance of bubbles :) But back to the polish. I really like it and even though yellow is not one of my favorite colors so I am pretty sure this is one that will pop up during spring and summer!

Then we have Heli-yum – also a creme. As with most red/pinks I find it very hard to capture. As you can see on the first picture the bottle color is slightly more pinkish than the color on the nails. But its really depending on which light is on and the surroundings. But nevertheless I love pinks and this one is a definite keeper ;) A girl cant have to many pinks!

Four Leaf Clover – or the chameleon as I like to call it. This is also a creme, I actually think the full collection is all cremes, but not entirely sure. It applies really well, I think one coat did the job here and ½ coat for finishing touches. And now look at the 3 pictures below. Of the same polish. Notice any difference? Just click to make them bigger, had to make them tiny so they could fit besides each other. Amazing how a color can be so versatile. Blue, green and minty. And when I look at it in real life it looks more like grass green.. I think these are some great colors and I am sure these and many of the pastels that there are out will be good this upcoming season :) I am gonna put this one on the toes for sure! :P And I would definitely recommend this for Sct. Pattys day ;)

And to finish off I have taken a picture with no flash, the only light is a desk lamp. I honestly think this is the most accurate shot of the colors, except of the Heli-Yum, where the top picture is the best.
Have you found your spring colors yet?

*All opinions concerning this product is my own and I am not getting paid to write this.

Thanks for reading :)

NOTD Gosh – 550 Purple Heart

Posted Sunday, January 24th, 2010

A duo chrome! My first one and I could not capture it, except on one picture and that wasn’t even on the nails.. oh shoot! :( But I really like that’s its purple most of the time ;) Sorry about the crappy pictures, all was taken at night with a desk lamp or flash :( Applies really good with 1-1½ coat :D

Today I received my order from last weeks “shopping spree” on eBay :D

Just grabbed some quick shots of it :D Maybe be back with some better pics when I get the new camera

Chanel - 505 Particulière

I LOVE how it looks. And as with all chanel polishes it the application is really good. I think its nice how is lighter or dark depending on the light :D

Chanel - 505 Particulière

This is with two coats and seche vite top coat

Chanel - 505 Particulière

In all I am really glad I got this and think I will be wearing this for a good amount of time this spring :D

China Glaze vs. GOSH vs. H&M

Posted Sunday, January 10th, 2010

So I mentioned in a post that I thought my Gosh – Holographic was a dupe.. And I take that back.. Well and then again maybe not, I am really confused about this :P Because there are some big similarities in the H&M and the GOSH. The CG is more fine in the holo than the others are. But I will let you be the judge :) I think my favorite actually might be Gosh, just cause it has that extra holo effect.. what do you think? But saying that the China Glaze is a bit different in the bunch so there’s no comparison here other than the holo effect it self. You with me still? :P

But hey for this might only be for the trained eye.. I don’t think anyone could see any difference if I put them on randomly on and went to work :P
